Two Colour Dyeing and Precision Piecing Course

This course will be run by the lovely Catherine Alsworth from Patchwork Robin over two days.
Day One.
Graduated Dyeing of fabric using the two crossover method. This day will run from 9am until 5pm with the possibility of finishing sooner depending on how everyone gets on.
In preparation for Day Two you will need to dry and iron your newly dyed fabric.
Day Two.
Precision Piecing – starting at 10am, you will learn how to carefully cut your freshly dyed fabrics using thin pencil lines, thin thread and small needles with an accurate seam to create a precision block which you can take away with you and repeat if you wish to turn into a stunning hand dyed, handmade quilt.
You will learn how to use your rulers and rotary cutters with precision. Tips on how not to lose your points when piecing and the best tools and equipment to produce a quality piece of work.
There is a list of equipment you will need to bring for this course including 1250g salt, face mask, rubber gloves, apron, 4 buckets, measuring spoons, 2 litre plastic jug, 2 jam jars, stirring implement, timer, sewing machine, thread and small sized needle.
