About Vicky

Vicky began sewing as soon as she could hold a needle and showed her skill early on by sewing a button to a scrap of fabric and right through her skirt as well…

Vicky

She learned most of her skills from her mother, both grandmothers and paternal grandfather all of whom were skilled in parts of the trade. She took Dressmaking at school and honed her skills on The infamous Baby Doll Pyjamas and Teatime Skirt projects. Her 18th birthday gift was a sewing machine and she never looked back.

Many other crafts have come and gone in Vicky’s life but sewing remains a constant.

She is particularly proud of making her wedding dress from Liberty Lawn and three different patterns in 2017, an evening  dress from her late mother’s choir robes, and a swing coat of teal wool and lined in orange silk.
